Happy late Thanksgiving! We had a fun filled couple of days. On Thanksgiving morning we ran the "Earn Your Turkey" race which was 4 miles. I finished in 37 minutes, Kandice finished at 44 minutes, and LeEarl finished in 32 minutes. Neither Kandice or myself will ever beat her Dad... He is amazing and our hero! After the race they always have prizes and raffle prizes so we sat on the hard gym floor at the Orem Rec for 2+ hours after to see if we could score a free turkey or some pies and such. Well Following the usual pattern LeEarl won his age group, and about 4 turkeys in the raffle, however he only took 2. He took pity on us and gave us one of his turkeys since we didn't win anything:( So then it was home for a quick shower and then off to UP-Chuck-a-Rama for some Thanksgiving eats. It was actually very delicious. We were a little fearful of having an H encounter at the Chuck-a-Rama, but fear not...NO H SIGHTINGS TO REPORT!! Then we went home for a few minutes to tell the poopies happy turkey day, and tell them just how scrumptious our dinner was. I like to tell them about the delicious things we eat so they have something to dream about. Ha Ha Ha we do not let our poopies have human food! Copper has a weak tummy. So after giving the poopies something to daydream about it, it was off to the movie. We bought our tickets days in advance because we figured it would be packed! It turned out that was not necessary. There were probably 15 people in the whole theater...which is how we prefer it. We saw 4 Christmases...It was pretty funny. Probably not for everyone, but we thought it was funny. We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening at the Healeys playing some games and eating a lot of junk. It was a lovey thanksgiving with no prep, no cooking, no clean up! Just lots of relaxing, well other than the 4 mile race in the morning. Friday I had to work for about an hour:( The rest of the day I spent on the roof with Buffnstuff hanging Christmas lights on the house. I don't know if any of you have seen his work, but he is amazing. Check it...

Looks awesome, but it looks a lot better in person so feel free to drive by and stalk us, and soak in the Christmas beauty! Also if you feel like you need to try and compete with my Christmas-ness feel free to contact me and I'll get you in contact with my lighting expert! Then we headed up the tree...no not with lights. With a really big ladder, a brick tied to a rope and some pretty genius plans. We have to two 50 year old walnut trees in our yard. Very pretty in the summer... A nightmare the rest of the year! The walnuts seem to cling to the tree all stinking year. That is, unless you climb the tree and shake them out. Which is quite a chore. I was able to get the front tree done by myself, however the back tree was a little more tricky. I had to recruit the help of a professional. So I call my friends at Premier Lawn Services for some help. It's all fun and games until someone gets hit in the face with falling walnuts. Well we didn't get it in the face, but plenty on top of the head...Ouch.
Then on Friday Kandice, myself and LeEarl ran the "Turkey Trot 5k" at Lions Park in our neighborhood. There was about 4 people that ran, so by default we all won ribbons!

That's right folks. Those are blue ribbons you see. Since we were the only runners in our age groups we couldn't lose! Now that's my kind of race. he he
